In the Animal Kingdom at Disney, Orlando, is the Tree of Life.
The Tree is a 14-story (145-foot tall), 50-foot wide tree with about 325 carved animals scattered in the roots, trunk and branches. It is built on an oil rig as the base skeleton and has 103,000 translucent, leaves with five shades of green. The leaves were individually placed and actually blow in the wind. The exterior surfaces are considered "painted rockwork". I believe it is a form of concrete, allowed to slightly set up and then carved. It reminds me of the concrete bridges park near our stick built home in SE Michigan.
Some of the animals depicted are a bit distance from the trunk, such as the long horned sheep.
Bison.
Deer (or mule deer), or something with a nice rack of horns.
I looked way up in the tree with Sony Too and look what I found, a seahorse!
I spied these creatures on the way into the root system where the theater showing, "It's Tough to be a Bug!" The larger ones look rather prehistoric to me. But, down in the right, a bug, a lady bug. Hope it's not one of those Asian orange wanna be bitting mean snarky nasty soy loving bugs we have at home. (Can you tell I am no fan of the Asian ones??)
In the darkness, with a bit of a light, we find some sort of an ape.
Would have loved to spend several hours just photographing the Tree of Life. It is amazing.
