THE Trip, THE Encore' :: Battery Point Lighthouse, Crescent City, California

Copyright 2014, CABS for Reflections From the Fence

We visited the Battery Point Lighthouse on May 30, 2013, yes, that long ago.  We are not in California today.

The fog and sea mist are gone, the abundant blue skies are back and the tide is out, we can get to the lighthouse.

We still have to watch where we are walking, there were a few wet spots.

Whale watching is a popular sport in this area, and it seems it is also a popular art form::

More art, in the form of bouys:

Looking north, on the left coast, awful pretty - -

Tours to the top of the lighthouse are offered.  Trouble for me, the way up is a steep ladder, well over 3 rungs. My feet refuse to go over 3 rungs, maybe 4 on a special occasion.  I handed Man Sony Too and asked for some photos.  He did good work:

Back outside after Man's tour, I note the lighthouse keeper cleaning the windows:

You can read about the lighthouse, here, here, and here.  I note, with interest, that the first link has a photo that is almost identical to mine.

We will spend the afternoon among the Redwoods.
